DiNinno Family Dental – Fitchburg MA
Most dentistry looks like dentistry. Our goal is to provide dentistry that is undetectable. We replace existing crowns and fillings with restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth.
Where damage to a person’s teeth is extreme, and apparently beyond repair, we can use porcelain or porcelain “pasted on gold” crowns to make the smile appear “as new”. This is an extremely reliable technique for repairing the most severe of dental problems, even permanently replacing missing teeth to offer a complete smile and a functional bite. We are renowned for the quality of our work and the fantastic changes we make for people using this technology. These treatments are used for a long-lasting correction of major dental problems. It is usual for these treatments to last for 20 to 30 years, which is as close to permanent as dental treatment can get.
How long does it take to fit a dental crown?
Fitting a dental crown requires at least two visits to our office. Initially, we will remove decay, shape the tooth, and fit it with a temporary crown of either plastic or metal.
On the subsequent visit, we will remove the temporary crown and then fit and adjust the final crown. Finally, we will cement the dental crown into place and you have a new beautiful looking tooth.
Key Benefits of Dental Crowns
- Replaces missing teeth
- Offers support to misshapen teeth or badly broken teeth
- Looks completely natural
- Fixes “smile” and functional chewing problems
Restore The Look And Feel Of Your Teeth
What are the capabilities of dental crowns?
Crown and bridgework is a very reliable solution for major dental problems caused through accidents, diseases or wear and tear. Major problems can usually be corrected using these techniques. Material used in these repairs is either high-grade porcelain or porcelain bonded to gold. A higher strength of the porcelain and gold materials is recommended to treat the most serious of dental problems. Where accidental damage has occurred, resulting in lost teeth, or where teeth have broken away through excessive wear, or as the result of old fillings breaking, crowns and/or dental bridges can be used as a long-term solution.
Many people have unexplained pain from filled back teeth, which is usually due to hairline cracks in the chewing part of the tooth. Placing dental crowns on these teeth relieves the pain and allows a return of full dental function for these teeth. In front teeth, older fillings can both weaken the teeth and cause “appearance” problems due to staining or chipping. Porcelain crowns and dental bridges are suitable in cases where porcelain veneers are not. In teeth with root canal fillings, dental crowns can prevent breakage.
Dental Crown Cases
Here is an example of a tooth with a large, failing amalgam restoration and a tooth that has had root canal therapy. Dental crowns are indicated for both teeth to prevent fracture and possible tooth loss.

Patient Review By Tom B
Drs. DiNinno -- both father and son -- are true professionals in all aspects of their practice. Dr. Nick DiNinno Jr. has decades of experience, has seen it all and has provided excellent treatment throughout the years. Dr. Nicholas DiNinno III has the latest training in the dental industry and, coupled with state-of-the-art equipment, provides top-notch care and treatment. The staff is extremely courteous as well as being very qualified and competent. I always have a good feeling when I leave the office that I've been given dental care with my best interests in mind and that I've received the best treatment possible.

My son is Dr Nicholas DiNinno III. Recently he has completed some treatment for me, some crowns and Invisalign . I may be a little prejudiced, but his treatment was excellent. I did his orthodontics when he was young and now he is returning the favor. As any parent knows, there is nothing more rewarding than to have your child grow up to be a kind and caring person. I am very proud of him and I know that any patient that chooses to have Nicholas as their dentist will not be disappointed.

Patient Review By Kelli G
I picked DiNinno Family Dental out of the phone book 32 years ago because I needed a dentist for a sore tooth. I am so very happy with my decision to visit them. When my children were young, they would bring in a stuffed animal to have their teeth checked first. They have made my children "fear free" of going to the dentist. I feel like I'm a part of their dental family and love the care I get there. My whole family has joined and would recommend them to all my friends. You won't be disappointed! Always a beautiful clean environment!

Doctor gets 10 stars. I am not a fan of going to the dentist, but he makes me feel comfortable. Dental hygienist is awesome and is another person who always makes me feel comfortable. Didn’t even feel the novacaine shot. Would recommend this dentist and his staff to anyone.

Dr. Nick has been my family dentist for years. He re-defines the common fear of "going to the dentist". He brings decades worth of professionalism and expertise that is unmatched, while also adding a friendly smile and humor to ease any anxiety. I drive 2 hours from NH to see him for treatment and I will continue to do so. When I look up in that chair and see him I know I am in good hands and will always get the best treatment possible.

Patient Review By Frank D
My family has been searching for a new provider ever since the one we had retired, and I believe we found the perfect fit. I have been cautious and hesitant about dentists for as long as I can remember. At DiNinno Family Dental, my fears were respected and understood. From the moment I walked in I felt "at home." A good friend recommended DiNinno Family Dental and the stress free experiences he and his spouse have always had through the years they have been going there. I am under the same belief that he has, "if I can't feel my ankles, then the novocaine is sufficient." In all seriousness, if my pain can be controlled, I'll be alright through any procedure. My wife after her first visit, was equally pleased. Everyone we both met introduced themselves. This made us feel like "family" and not just a patient. The hygienist she had was very friendly and patient, answering any question she may have had. We both will be going here from now on for our dental care.
